Technical ramblings:
If there will be large numbers of lessons and teacher pages, it may be beneficial to create pages actually titled "Lessons" and "Teacher Pages." This will allow for some organization inside each segregated category (even so far as being able to arrange by date or subject matter), but won't stop you from cross-linking a lesson to a teacher page. I'm also relatively certain you can lock down specific pages by user, so if this turns into a place for you to store your OWN lessons for easy reference, you can still leave the other pages open to students, and restrict access to the teacher sections for yourself.
Security things you can note: at the bottom there's a "history" button. This will show you who made changes to your page and when. Also, when you open a page to edit, you get a 15 minute exclusive lock so no one can edit the same thing you are. There's also the Revision icon, when you click that you can roll back to an older version of this page. Great if you want to put up a reminder every Friday for students to bring their ham sandwiches and pogo sticks (or whatever you science people do, I'm not judging anyone here.)
Experiencing some problems with IE7, working beautifully with Firefox v3.0.3. Google Chrome is a total exercise in failure, can't even log in.
And yeah, I know I was supposed to be waiting for a set of requirements from you, but I was feeling interested this morning. Gotta ride the tides as they come. =)
Here's an attempt at video embedding from YouTube (frog heart dissection or some other similarly disgusting thing):
